Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to common questions about Interlock (Rate/Hour).

Session length varies with loc size, density, and desired tightening. Typical interlock sessions range from one to four hours. We bill by the hour and will estimate time after reviewing photos or during consultation.

Pricing is charged by actual chair time. Denser or thicker locs require more time. We provide an estimated hourly range after assessing photos or consultation; additional time is billed if needed during the appointment.

First-time clients should send clear photos of the entire head from multiple angles showing roots, parting, and loc thickness. Include last maintenance date and desired outcome so we can estimate time and advise pricing.

When performed correctly with a crochet latch hook, interlocking is safe and preserves loc integrity. Overworking or excessive tension can cause stress, so our stylists use gentle technique to minimize breakage and recommend proper intervals.

We can interlock many extension types as well as natural hair, but suitability depends on attachment method and base. Send photos and extension details beforehand so we can confirm compatibility or suggest alternatives.

Arrive with clean, dry locs free of heavy oils or product buildup. Remove fragile accessories and detangle loose hair. If you cannot wash beforehand, let us know and we will advise any special prep.
